Flow Hive technology drastically reduces the chance of being stung during harvest, but if you drop a full brood frame during a routine inspection, you are sure to attract unwanted attention!
Even the friendliest beehive can get cranky sometimes and these jackets are perfect for the beekeeper who wants convenience while also knowing their face, arms and torso have the very best in sting prevention.
Our mesh jackets are lightweight and easy to take on and off, which makes them a popular option around the Flow office. Just make sure you’re wearing suitable sting prevention below the waist!
Each jacket kit comes with accordingly-sized ventilated gauntlet goatskin gloves and a J-style hive tool, both items extremely useful for any beekeeper.

This mesh fabric allows air to come in while preventing nasty bee stings. With three intersecting layers of mesh, this fabric offers a raised preventative layer difficult for a tiny bee stinger to get through whilst allowing enough airflow to keep your body nice and cool. The lightweight construction means you will be happy to wear these jackets for extended beekeeping sessions.
We are really happy to have sourced this perfect fully removable fencing style veil. This mesh veil does not compromise on either durability nor visibility. Using a combination of high-gauge heavy mesh for solid sting prevention on the flanks where increased movement requires extra strength, with a finer gauge mesh over the face for easier breathing and better visibility, this veil offers outstanding sting prevention and practicality.
Hive inspections often require additional equipment which can be needed at a moment's notice. This versatile jacket features 6 pockets located on the hips, chest and sleeves so that you can store all of your beekeeping essentials to ensure you will always be completely prepared.
All pockets are made from good quality, medium-weight cotton drill, with the chest pockets featuring an embroidered Flow logo and secure hook-and-loop fastening top flaps.
This jacket features elasticated wrist cuffs and waistband providing comfortable yet snug barriers as preventative sting prevention against defensive bees. Thumb stirrups at each wrist will help keep your elasticised sleeves in place offering additional sting prevention.
High-quality zippers which feature an oversized ring pull tab making them easy to use whilst wearing gloves. The rugged, plastic teeth are ideal for outdoor use as they will never rust and are extremely durable.
When you’re moving around a lot tending your bees, the elbows on clothing can be put under a lot of stress and are often the first place to wear out. Padded elbow gaiters give extra strength where it’s needed most, reinforced with cotton drill, these are designed to last.
This kit comes complete with Mesh Jacket, Ventilated Gauntlet Goatskin Gloves and a J-style hive tool handmade using German Stainless Steel. Please be aware that a beekeeping jacket is NOT a beekeeping suit. [You can have a look at those here]. It is important to wear additional protective clothing such as long pants (painters’ pants, jeans or sweatpants are great), a pair (or two) of thick socks, and good work boots to help prevent against stings.
Our unique Flow 3-layer mesh gear provide the best available sting prevention and are purpose designed for functionality for times when even the friendliest hive gets cranky.
Three intersecting layers of raised fabric sit high and away from the skin, helping to prevent bee stings.
The mesh ensures much greater comfort than traditional beesuits, allowing breezes in and sweat to evaporate out, perfect for Australian conditions.
Lightweight construction allows for extended beekeeping sessions, so you can get to work like your busy bees even on the hottest days!
Bee suits are designed to be worn slightly baggy over your normal clothing, so it’s best to choose a slightly larger size than you would normally wear.
Be sure to give yourself plenty of room to move around with additional length for movement – ankles and wrists need to remain covered when you’re crouching, bending or stretching.
You do not want the suit to be tight fitting – it’s this loose fitting material that offers sting prevention.

Beekeeping is a labour of love. As with all animal husbandry, it’s a pastime which requires knowledge, skill and dedication and which carries with it inherent risks.
Beekeeping suits and other personal protective equipment can offer excellent prevention against bee stings, but are not 100 percent effective. It’s important new beekeepers exercise caution when tending to their hives and are comfortable with the fact that sooner or later, all beekeepers get stung.
